I've recently taking up knitting and it has taken over as my latest hobby. It has most of my focus lately, but I'm slowly starting to find ways to build time for other hobbies and interests, such as my writing.
My schedule has recently opened up a bit more to allow fairly regular attendance at writing group. I find writing group to be very helpful for my writing. Having regular meetings with other creatives and knowing I will be providing an update on what I have accomplished since the last time we met helps to keep writing at the forefront of my mind. Out of sight, out of mind also applies to writing for me to. So having regular discussions and accountability checks keeps me thinking about my writing and what I'm going to do next.
So what is next for me? A few projects are in the works:
- Tantalizingly Taboo Series
A new instalment of the Tantalizingly Taboo series has been written! I still need to edit, format, and publish it, but the story is at least written. I recently finished that piece, so I am letting it sit for a bit before I go back in for edits. Stay tuned for that release!
2. Dusting off and oldie
I've dusted off an older story idea. A couple of scenes have been written and published: The Forgotten Princess and The King's Confession have been published in GIFt Horse anthologies. I've always had this partial story in the back of my mind to complete, but never had a clear picture of where it was going. I've been thinking about these pieces more, and I have a plan! I'm slowly starting to become a plantser, and some initial ideas have been planned out for this piece. My goal is for this to become a full-length novel, and I expect there to be many updates on this piece over the next coming posts.
3. Poetry in Zines
I am working on some new poetry to publish in a zine. I have never made a zine before, and am excited to see what I can create! The zine will be available at the Charlottetown Zine Fest and all proceeds will go to Queer Poetry Club. There will be limited copies available and they will only be available at Zine Fest.
Until the next chapter, dear readers!
